Marc Jacobs shares a little known fact about fashion week: It’s actually quite a lot of work.

Want to look like Betty Draper? Head to Shoppers for some Revlon “Cherries in the Show” and Maybelline Great Lash.

From the company that brought you male model Marcus Schenkenberg’s signature scent comes a quartet of Desperate Housewives fragrances. What does desperation smell like? A mix of fruit and florals.

Jon Gosselin may not have been working on a collaboration with Ed Hardy’s Christian Audiger, but Michael Jackson was. The line naturally includes a rhinestoned glove.

Sony Ericsson team up with Ed Hardy!

August 26th, 2009

sony ericsson w595 ed hardy edition Sony Ericsson team up with Ed Hardy! If you’re currently reading this with your Von Dutch baseball cap, Police watch and Prada sunglasses on then this is news you cannot afford to miss (though if you have the aforementioned accessories there’s not a lot you can’t afford). Sony Ericsson have teamed up with acclaimed tattooist Ed Hardy and fashion designer Christian Audigier to give us the Sony Ericsson W595 Ed Hardy Edition. For those unfamiliar with his work, Ed Hardy is a world renowned tattoo artist who, in collaboration with fashion designer Christian Audigier, has his own clothing range. Devotees to the Ed Hardy brand include England football legend and fashionista David Beckham, Hip Hop star Lil Wayne and pop princess Britney Spears to name but a few.

The phone has a striking presence thanks to the Ed Hardy design that takes over the normally shy and retiring W595. On the front, classic Ed Hardy artwork sucextra3 sony ericsson w595 ed hardy edition back Sony Ericsson team up with Ed Hardy! h as skulls, snakes, tigers and floral patterns all intermingle with the phones keys whilst on the back the blank space better accommodates larger motifs such as the military style”Death before Dishonor” badge and the trademark Ed Hardy signature. Let’s get one thing straight; this is no shrinking violet, it’s a seriously cool phone that demands your attention. If you’re after something subtle, look elsewhere. Framing the tattoo styling is a nice silver metal finish whilst the keys and that famous Walkman logo are finished off in Bronze. The Ed Hardy W595 will definitely split opinions in a Marmite sort of way but i for one and firmly putting myself in the love camp!

As for the phone specs, it’s pretty much a carbon copy of the original W595 (save for some Ed Hardy wallpapers and other niceties). The phone features a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video capture and a secondary front facing camera for video calling. If that didn’t give it away, the W595 also features HSDPA connectivity reaching speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. As for the Walkman features (this is still a Walkman phone after all), the W595 features the excellent Walkman player which boasts one of the best sound qualities of any portable device extra2 sony ericsson w595 ed hardy edition open Sony Ericsson team up with Ed Hardy! including dedicated music players. Alongside this we also get the usual slew of extras such as TrackID which identifies songs from a short clip you record, Shake control which lets you skip tracks with a flick of the wrist and SensMe which sets up playlists for different moods. The phone also takes up to 8GB worth of expandable memory (using Sony’s Memory stick Micro M2 format) so you really can dump that MP3 player.

The original W595 was a real work horse with a great spec list, good size and weight and great build quality. This latest Ed Hardy edition brings a new edgy design and boosts the style to match the substance. Set to launch in early September, to sign up for updates and keep an eye on the Blog and we’ll keep you posted on the Sony Ericsson W595 Ed Hardy Edition.

Breaking: Jon Gosselin Bamboozled Christian Audigier?

August 24th, 2009

JEd hardy clothingEither the famous Ed Hardy designer is beginning to back-peddle, or Jon Gosselin is much more of a loser than anyone could have imagined.  E!Online, who scored the interview with Gosselin’s girlfriend Hailey Glassman where she badmouthed everyone from TLC to the Jon and Kate Plus 8 viewers, sat down with Christian Audigier and put him on the hot-set over alleged plans to use Bad-Boy Gosselin and his plus 8 to market a line of children’s duds.  They made him talk.

“I never said I was going to do a line with Jon Gosselin. I don’t want to do a line with Jon Gosselin.” Audigier told E!Online, going on to say that he never did and still does not  “want to use their kids to wear my clothes.

Audigier’s interest in Gosselin seemed to stem from Jon’s difficulty finding a job in the early episodes of the series. “He was wearing a lot of Christian Audigier every day, so I said, I want to meet this guy.  I just invite him because I see him on the Jon & Kate show asking for job. So I was curious to see what he was asking people for which kind of job.”

Perhaps the most telling part of Audigier’s Gosselin reality-check is the way sneaky Jon scored a ticket for gal-pal Hailey Glassman. “He told me he was coming with his stylist. It appeared his stylist was Hailey. A week after, I discovered those two guys were together. I didn’t even know that Jon and Kate were not together.”

Oops.  Looks like Audigeir doesn’t frequent supermarkets.

Ed Hardy Designer Christian Audigier Talks Jon Gosselin, Michael Jackson

August 21st, 2009

Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier knew Michael Jackson. He partied with Michael Jackson. And Jon Gosselin is no Michael Jackson.

At least not when it comes to people he had plans to collaborate with on potential clothing lines. (Among any number of other distinctions.)

Despite reports to the contrary, spurred on by an Audigier-funded trip to St.-Tropez for Gosselin and girlfriend Hailey Glassman, the T-shirt purveyor tells E! News that the only celebrity he ever discussed going into business with was the King of Pop.

“I invited him to my birthday,” Audigier says of Jackson. “And he showed up. It was his last public appearance. He was testing [the public mood about him] at my party. So we became friends. He told me one day he would like to collaborate with me on a collection.”

A binding contract if ever there was one. Too bad no such deal ever existed with The Lying Channel’s No. 1 dad.

“I never said I was going to do a line with Jon Gosselin. I don’t want to do a line with Jon Gosselin.”

Well, not this week, anyway…

“Jon is going to give me a visit in Las Vegas because there is a trade show, Magic,” Audigier says, adding that he was open to the idea of a collaboration, but not on a much-rumored children’s line, as he doesn’t “want to use their kids to wear my clothes.”

“He is going to come…a week from today, and he is going to become more familiar with the product.”

And, we presume, pose for a photo or two along the way.

But their frequent conversations have never quite crossed over from personal to professional.

“He calls me every two days to see what is going on. He is talking about his kids a lot.”

As for other jobs Gosselin doesn’t have but seems to think he does: Audigier says that, despite appearances, the reality dad is not a paid spokesman for his clothing brand. (Though he has been the recipient of a seemingly endless gift box and is, like it or not, the brand’s unofficial ambassador.)

He may soon go pro with his shilling, however, and become a spokesman for another Ed Hardy offshoot. We think.

“He is really into bikes, so he want to do something around bikes so he can be the spokesperson for one of my brands on bikes.”

Now that that’s all cleared up…

About the photo op that started it all, Audigier says he originally flew Gosselin and Glassman to France earlier this summer simply because “he was wearing a lot of Christian Audigier every day, so I said, ‘I want to meet this guy.’”

“I just invite him because I see him on the Jon & Kate show asking for job. So I was curious to see what he was asking people for which kind of job.”

Apparently, Audigier’s viewing of Jon & Kate Plus 8 was a one-time-only deal, as evidenced by his bafflement over Gosselin’s plus-one for the trip.

Upon accepting Audigier’s invitation, the reality dad took it upon himself to request a second ticket.

“He told me he was coming with his stylist. It appeared his stylist was Hailey. A week after, I discovered those two guys were together. I didn’t even know that Jon and Kate were not together.”

Well, we knew there had to be someone.
