Project Runway: Tim Gunn’s Take on Jon Gosselin’s “Style”

September 7th, 2009

Hearing Tim Gunn’s words on the Jon and Kate Plus 8 patriarch, I just had to laugh.  Really hard.  The Project Runway go-to guy for style recently talked about the low-down laziness of Jon Gosselin when it comes to his clothes.

It’s often said you can tell a lot about a person upon seeing the way they dress.  Well, here’s the father of eight.  He’s usually spotted wearing incredibly loose shirts and the baggiest of jeans.  That is, if he’s eager to get dressed at all.  He’s already been spotted going around sporting a bare chest and that belly of his.

If anyone was insulted by the sight of Jon Gosselin walking around like that, it’s Tim Gunn.  The style guru talked to Us Weekly about some tips he had for the reality TV dad, and bottom line is, he needs a change.  The point is, size does matter.

“In his case, everything is too big,” Tim Gunn said at the Addressing Psoriasis Fashion Show in New York City.  He might as well be referring to Jon Gosselin’s ego.

“It is what I refer to as the slobification of America,” the Project Runway mentor continued.  “If you want to dress to feel as though you never got out of bed, then don’t get out of bed.”

Should Jon Gosselin even get out of bed at all?  Perhaps the guys behind the Ed Hardy mens  shirts could take Tim’s comments into account as they drag in the Gosselin to promote their clothing line.  But we doubt Jon can “make it work.”

Despite the fashion failure of this Jon and Kate Plus 8 star, his other half is proving to be better in Tim Gunn’s eyes.  He admitted to the publication that he was more “accepting” of Kate Gosselin’s tastes, particularly her notorious asymmetrical hairdo.

“If that’s the way she wants to present herself, then she’s doing a good job,” Gunn said.  Still, he wouldn’t agree to give her a makeover.

Do you have ed hardy tattoo?

September 5th, 2009

Is a tattoo art, accessory or mistake?ed hardy

The answer depends on who you ask. While many associate tattoos with bikers and rappers tattoos can be found everywhere and they have not lost their popularity. Angelina Jolie proudly wears the latitude and longitudes of her childrens birthplaces on her back shoulder area and John Gosselin sports an Ed Hardy mens t shirt which displays original Ed Hardy  tattoo designs. The use of removable tattoos and tattoo inspired clothing is a safe bet. For the real tattoo enthusiast however it just won’t do. While a tattoo lover might purchase an Ed hardy design they will also have a real tattoo on their skin.

Tattoos are rooted in a 5,000 year old history. A recent discovery on a mountaintop in between Austria and Italy from the bronze age was a frozen man with 57 tattoos placed over specific points on his body apparently for health related reasons like arthritis. Another discovery between Russia and China showed tattoos from about 2400 years ago that appeared to be for the purpose of decoration or status.

Polynesians are the most respected for the tattoos because of  their intricate designs. Tattoo comes from the polynesian word ta which means to strike and tatau which means to mark something. Tattoos over the ages have been selected for the following reasons:

1.Therapeutic

2. Magical

3.Decoration

4. Life Force

5.Spiritual well being

6. Adventures

7. Status

8. Connections to all of life

Greeks and Romans used tattoos for punishment. Today Kat Von D is one of the most in demand female tattoo artists to celebrity clientele. Her designs are amazing. Right here in West Palm Beach there is Hellcat tattoo. Tattoos are very personal. Some attractive but simpler designs are florals around the back neck area. Also a tattoo that has a vine around the ankle is popular. The drawback from a fashion perspective with a tattoo is they fight with clothing patterns and lines. For those that love tattoos that probably is not a consideration. Tattoos for business are better left unseen.

So if you think they are right for you TATTOO!

Pirelli Calendar 2010 pictures: preview

September 3rd, 2009

There was much media fuss over Miranda Kerr getting naked for Rolling Stone magazine, but it surely won’t have escaped the attention of many that, bare as she was, her modesty remained strategically in tact. Given that Terry Richardson is the photographer, the same can’t be said of the 2010 Pirelli Calendar. In it we’ll be seeing more of Miranda than before, not to mention the naked figures of a whole host of other world-class models including Catherine McNeil, Daisy Lowe, and Abbey Lee Kershaw.

You don’t have to inspect the photos too closely to tell that they’re typical of both the annual Pirelli Calendar and the work of Terry Richardson; in fact he seems to be posing with the models more so than actually taking the pictures (another trait of his).

Click on the gallery below for more behind the scenes photos of the 2010 Pirelli Calendar being shot. Obviously very NSFW.

We can’t tell you much about these photos just yet… but really, what is there to say? When it comes to getting nude, Australian model Miranda Kerr is one who cannot go un-noticed.

We’ll give you more details about the shoot as they come to hand; in the meantime, you can view the full (NSFW) set of nude Miranda Kerr pictures by clicking on the gallery below.
