Jon and Kate Gosselin recently went to court to resolve the pesky matter of the $230,000 that Jon Gosselin allegedly withdrew from the couple’s joint bank account – a big no-no, as both Gosselins had been ordered by a judge not to take out large sums of money without alerting their bitter estranged spouses before doing it. Now, Jon Gosselin has been ordered to put $180,000 dollars into the account.

But Jon’s excuse for taking the money? He thought it was time to get paid.
What?
Putting an end to the blessed silence that had fallen upon the Gosselin camps for a couple of days while they resolved the matter of the money, Jon told Entertainment Tonight, “Well, it was just after arbitration, we weren’t supposed to take money out of the restrictive account and we both did. I was found in contempt for doing so. I didn’t realize, I was just like taking my paycheck out.”
In fairness to Jon, he did recently admit that he never did any banking for himself the whole time he was married to Kate. So we can imagine that actually having to function like an adult could lead to some confusion and pulling out $230,000 seemed like a reasonable withdrawal.
Jon isn’t the only one who got slapped on the wrist by the judge…Kate was also ordered to put back any money she’d taken out without alerting Jon about first. Both halves of this misbehaving duo have been ordered to return the funds they withdrew by October 26th.
Said Jon,”I’m gonna be truthful and abide by the court and I’ll put it back. And she has to do the same.” As for how much Kate took out…Jon has no idea: “It’s unaccounted for. So by Friday, we’ll know her complete accounting, which might reduce my accounting. So I don’t know what’s going on.” We think with that last part, for the first time in a while Jon summed up a situation incredibly accurately.
We have a feeling that it will be discovered that Kate’s been spending her money in a drastically different manner than Jon. It will likely come out that Kate’s been making withdrawals in order to pay bills and buying things for her kids, while Jon seems to spend his money on cigarettes, Ed Hardy clothing, and his creepy new New York bachelor pad.
